Peep into my office life Part 2

Presenting to you my office life part 2 !!!!! Well, this entry is more personal cos I'm going to reveal how my work station looks like!!

Coming up first is my closest combat.....My computer!!

Well, been staring at this computer for eight weeks already. This computer is very important to me cos I need it for every work that I do...However, it is very very SLOOOOOOWWWWW. Ya, my other colleagues who had used my computer before, admired me for my patience and were thankful to their computers. You know, sometimes when I opened a document or go to the internet, i can wait for 5 minutes plus, once i even waited for over 15 mins...I'm so worried that my other colleagues or my supervisor will think that I'm slacking cos I'm always sitting there, staring at my computer and doing nothing...but the truth is my computer is still loading :(

Next, being an intern who needs to do lots of callings, telemarketings and RSVP, the next closest work pal will be my telephone!

Haha, my poor telephone's coil has been twisted all around and sometimes, I need to untwist it..keke... It's also another communication device between me and the other interns..haha

As an IT distributor, we get to have free gifts from resellers and here's one from Kingston. It's a magnetised whiteboard that comes with a marker...

Ha, I paste it on my cabinet..If i'm bored, I will draw pictures on it. My other intern always like to write messages on it such as "Hello", "You are very funny" and the other one wrote "you are a pig head" (cos I'm the blurest and most clumsy intern)..

My pencil holder on my desk. It's not mine but I find it cute..keke

Also, managed to find a ball in my drawer. It's actually a stress ball but not nice to squeeze one cos too hard le, but sometimes, i like to throw it high and catch it (when supervisor not watching..keke)

A night of screaming...

24/6/06 was a great night as it was one of my fav singer JJ concert!! Yeah! Like his songs a lot and have been listening to his songs (from 1st album till now) many many times already and i find him very talented as he knows how to compose songs and his b-box super cool..so was very excited to get to see him perform live...hee

Big big crowd was there as expected...(see, he's so popular..haha) and a long queue was at the female toilet, think everyone wanted to clear the burden first before sitting now to enjoy 3 hours plus of great show...

Before concert starts...

Lightsticks - A must-have for concerts...hee

We were actually taught some simple hand movements by 蓝波老师 so that we could "perform" when JJ sang "就是我"...quite childish movements but when everyone was doing it, it looked great and put everyone into "concert" mood...ha..The show finally started with cheers and a beautiful flute version of 一千年以后。Later, the 3 hours concert were filled with JJ's nice songs and cool dances..his dancing had greatly improved le...heehee...

One part was showing him playing piano and singing songs that he had composed for other singers, when he came to the chorus of 当你, he wanted the audience to sing and amazingly, the fans (including me :P) sang harmoniously..."当你的眼睛眯着笑，当你喝可乐，当你吵。。。。"...so nice!!

The most touching scene was when he sang the last second song " 只对你说 " Towards the ending of the song, he broke into tears as he was very touched by the great support from his family and fans..took him a while before he could complete the song... some may think he's sissy but i don't think so...if u are a person who has worked very hard and finally see the hardwork paid off, feeling touched and crying may be natural....

Overall, it was a great show..hope rhys did enjoy it as well...hee....

Peep into my office life Part 1

My computer has been broken down and can only be repaired on sun (hope so) so can't blog...now is secretly blogging in office (shhhh....) keke....

Well, this entry is abt my life as an intern in my company. Mmm, the task i do most is callings and RSVP..yup, a bit like telemarketing..thousands of calls need to be made, so can be quite sian...the telephone that i'm using has its telephone coil all twisted around lor, guess i've playing with the coil too much le..haha

Here's some "interesting" stuff I experience during my callings days:

1) Once I needed to make calls to invite ppl to a seminar, so i asked a receptionist, "can i speak to Mr xxx? The recept just replied coldly, "No". I was stunned cos the answer was so short and there was a short slience...mmm..then me just ended the call saying "thank you" after a short pause..

2) There were instances where the names were hard to differentiate the genders so need to use my guess sometimes. Once i thought the name souned female, so I said" Can i speak to Miss xxx?" A man replied angrily, "I'm not Miss, I'm Mr!" Me was so embarrassed.....

3) Sometimes, u can't trust the database...my database was obtained ages ago and once i called to ask for someone and the receptionist gave me a shocking reply, "He has passed away two years ago already." Oh my...

4) Sometimes, when receptionists transfer your calls, you got to hear music or radio...nice nice...and once, i even got to hear the whole song, forgot the title...but the lyrics had "starry starry night" one...keke...

5)there are some ppl who are nice and friendly that u almost want to start chatting with them...ke, got called some receptionists who had sweet voices and very polite..those ppl brighten my day! hee

Interesting marketing tactics

Marketing has always been interesting to me but it is hard to come up with creative ideas though...recently chanced upon a website and found out some creative and interesting marketing ideas...woo...wonder if i can ever come up with such good plans..heehee

Great Promotional Gift – Starhub bubble tea imagery

Starhub Singapore, a local internet service provider, recently used a great promotional gift. To demonstrate how well its online cable services are against other digital subscriber lines, they served a cup of tea with tapioca pearls (aka bubble tea) with 2 straws. The thicker straw was labeled “Maxonline” (Starhub’s service) and the thinner one was labeled “Other Internet Provider.” Quite clearly, only the Maxonline straw did the job for the drinker. Customers can visually “see” the Starhub Maxonline having a big and smooth line that make their internet surfing very comfortable, compared to a non Maxonline line that is filled with hiccups and slow connections. Kudos to the creative director who came out with this very creative promotional gift.

A great gift - Single Use Cameras

A great wedding gift has been making its rounds in the US for some time; a single use camera (aka disposable camera). These cameras are left on the table, and the wedding guests are free to use these cameras to capture some special moments of the event that they can reminicise in future about. Some hosts go the extra mile, asking their guests to leave behind their expended single use cameras. They then develop the taken pictures and send the pictures accompanied with a thank you note to their esteemed guests. Talk about personal and giving with a heart! Be careful on what u eat

Everyday, I would try something new to eat for lunch during work and there were a lot of variety of food for me to choose...so today was walking aimlessly looking at the signboards of different stalls...A pretty nice signboard with tasty photos of the different types of noodles caught my eyes...and so i decided to try its yun tun mee....

After I ordered, I regreted it...the auntie who was preparing the food did not wear any gloves and there were bits of meats stuck on her hands..While waiting for noodles to be cooked, i gave her the money and yes, she used her hands which handled my noodles just now to receive the money... Later, she wiped her hands on the apron and picked up some garnishes and throw them on top of the noodles...so unhygenic..!! and somemore, the fish cake slices were lumped together one ,which looked like they were leftovers.. (faint!!)

As I stared at my bowl of noodles in dismay, my other colleague came back and he bought his food from the same stall as I did...

As he saw that I had bought the same food earlier, he stared at me and said coldly, "why u didn't warn me?"

Haha, so be careful in choosing the stall, dun be deceived by the pretty signboard of the stall!!

it's a PEPSI GOLD..haha...super weird cos never seen pepsi in gold colour...think pepsi got launched one that was blue in colour...but it still tastes like pepsi..haha
