Creative food

Just read this online and find it very interesting! The most creative fried food ever.....haha....It is.......

Fried Coke!!!

This fried Coke is found in U.S. fair. A batter mix made with Coca-Cola syrup, a dizzle of strawberry syrup and some strawberries were made into balls. These balls are then deep-fried which are served in cups, topped with Coca-cola syrup, whipped cream, cinnamon sugar and cherry on top. Mmm...sounds so sweet..haha

35000 fried coke are sold and proved to be huge success. It is said that they may introduce fried Sprite and those who are looking after their weight can go for fried diet Coke. Haha, so funny cos if you are watching your weight, shouldn't consider eating them at all....High calories and super sweet lor....Unhealthy lei but if given a chance, I'm willing to try it, provided someone shares with me..Haha...

U wanna try? :P

Save my eyes!

These few days, I realised that when I looked at the projector screen in lecture with my glasses on, the words appeared blury, just like a haze in front of the screen. That's when I realised that all the late nights in looking at computer and watching TV have already secretly increase my short-sightedness!!! Argh!!!!!!

With no choice, I went to make a new pair and to my horror, my short-sightedness increases by almost 100 degrees! Oh my goodness!!!! I'm going to turn blind, sob sob sob...With that, I decide to use my sister's eye-savior!

Eye-savior! (supposedly..keke)

Have you seen this before? This specs has lots of holes which is said to help your eyes focus and in the long run, helps to decrease your short-sightedness. I put them on and amazingly, I can see the subtitles on TV quitely clearly! Wow, amazing right? cos this specs does not have any degrees one, it merely has some holes but it really helps me to see more clearly...So now I will try to put it on for some time to train my eyes...hope it helps.. :P

Don't I look like i'm wearing sunglasses? haha..my mum says i'm blind..ha

Btw, I watched Rob-b-hood! The show is so funny yet heart-warming towards the end...

The very attractive factor is the super cute baby! He's sooooooooooo adorable....I love him! keke...

Tooth fairy

How do you treat your fallen baby tooth when you are young? Well, I was told by my mum that whenever I had a fallen tooth, I would need to bring it to the window, held my hands out straight and standing straight. Then, I would throw my tooth out of the window..Haha, does it sounds familiar to you or is this method amusing to you? Keke, well, this method was said to enable your new tooth to grow out neat and straight...Mmm, I dunno if it works for everyone but my sibilings and I all have straight teeth..Keke...thanks to this method.. you can try it on your kids in the future...

Well, others have other methods of treating their fallen tooth. Mmm, have you ever heard of tooth fairy? I only come to know it through story books. When a kid has his tooth fallen out, he will place the tooth under his pillow and he will wake up tomorrow morning with a coin under his pillow!!! This is because tooth fairy has came by and rewarded him in exchange for the baby tooth. Sounds interesting, right? Have you tried it before when you are young? Haha....

I know this is just a legend and the tooth fairy must have been the kid's parents, right? Mmm, but i think it's fun to tell young children about this legend, maybe they won't be afraid of losing their tooth and tooth fairy encourages them to brush their teeth as tooth fairy likes shiny, bright tooth. Keke.....

Here's a poem from tooth fairy! :)

混血儿

On Sunday, OP and I went to Funan to shop and at the KFC restaurant, we saw three very adorable kids. They are 混血儿 as their mum is a Chinese and their dad an ang-mo. The kids are so pretty-looking, combining the sharp features of Caucasian and the delicate features of Asian...No wonder, people always say that mixed blood people are ususally more pretty or more handsome...and OP said that some women marry foreigners for the sake of having cuter babies...Is that true? Mmm, what a weird reason..haha

OP say that we are also considered mixed blood cos OP is half-Malaysian and I'm half-Indonesian...Haha...but our parents are both Chinese lor...so no difference...

Men v.s. Women

One of my guy friends recently faces a love problem. His girlfriend seems angry with him and he is super gan cheong, trying to find means to coax and appease his girlfriend...I think it's a good thing to see him so anxious which only shows that he is super concerned about his loved one...He also kept saying that being a man is so tough and he thinks that women are so difficult to understand...haha....

Yup, women can be hard to understand but so do we women think that men are difficult creatures to handle too....Keke, Men are from Mars and women from Venus! Below are some jokes about the differences between men and women...enjoy :P

BATHROOMS:
A man has at most six items in his bathroom - a toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel from the Holiday Inn. The average number of items in a typical woman's bathroom is 437. A man would not be able to identify most of these items.

GOING OUT:
When a man says he's ready to go out, it means he's ready to go out. When a woman says she's ready to go out, it means that she WILL be ready to go out, as soon as she finds her other earring, finishes putting on her makeup...

THE TELEPHONE:
Men see the telephone as a communications tool. They use the telephone to send short messages to other people. A woman can visit her girlfriend for two weeks, and upon returning home, she will call the same friend and they will talk for three hours.

DRESSING UP:
A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the garbage, answer the phone, read a book, get the mail... A man will dress up for: weddings, funerals.

SOCKS:
Men wear sensible socks. They wear standard white sweatsocks. Women wear strange socks. They are cut below the ankles, have pictures of teddy bears or hearts on them, and are most likely pink.

TOYS:
Little girls love to play with toys. Then, when they reach the age of 11 or 12, they lose interest. Men never grow out of their obsession with toys. As they get older, their toys simply become more expensive and impractical. Examples of men's toys: miniature TV's, car phones, complicated juicers and blenders, graphic equalizers, computer programs that do useless things very fast, video games, and anything that blinks, beeps and requires at least six "D" batteries to operate.

PAYING:
A man will pay $20 for a $10 item he needs. A woman will pay $10 for a $20 item that she doesn't need.

LOVE:
To be happy with a man, you must understand him a lot and love him a little. To be happy with a woman, you must love her a lot and not try to understand her at all.

FUTURE:
A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband. A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.

Meaningful lyrics

Recently, I heard these two songs on TV, one is 雨天 by Sun Yan Zi, the other is 爱笑的眼睛 by Vivian. I find the lyrics very meaningful....

《雨天》
Chorus:
你能体谅
我有雨天
偶尔胆怯
你都了解
过去那些大雨落下的瞬间
我突然发现

谁能体谅
我的雨天
所以情愿回你身边
此刻脚步
会慢一些
如此坚决
你却越来越远

My thoughts: This song is about a girl who has lost her boyfriend. Unlike other songs where guys sing about their pain in losing their girlfriends, this is about the regret felt by a girl, blaming herself for not treasuring him. "牵手和分手来自同一双手, 做回朋友, 我却为何不懂挽留." is one of the lyrics in the song. It's true that sometimes, a girl may take her boyfriend' love and actions for granted, not knowing how to cherish him. Only when he is no longer by your side, you realise that he is the only one who knows you best, the only one who know your weaknesses and yet willing to accept you. However, it's too late....

《爱笑的眼睛》
Chorus:

My thoughts: This song is about a girl bracing herself up after a breakup with her boyfriend. She realises that she must be strong and forget her past, and she convinces herself that breaking up is a good choice as she finds back her smiling eyes. "没有你 我的笑更美丽"...This is indeed an encouraging song, to console those broken hearts of girls, by letting them know that you can live better without him, the one who no longer love you. Find yourself back, find your smiling eyes back.....

"谁比较可怜? 失去一个爱你的人, 还是失去一个不爱你的人?"

Haircut

When I was young, I dread going to the hair salon to cut my hair. When I was in primary school, I still managed to keep my hair long till primary 4. Later, I had been forced by my mum to cut my hair short cos she was tired of tying my hair for me. (Yup, I'm lousy at tying hair, haha). She was my hairdresser and I was horrified at the hairstyle she cut for me. It's those "mushroom head" style. The hair level was at the ears and the fringe was those china doll short fringe. I hated that cos as my face was round, the mushroom head made me look so tu! However, then I was still not so image conscious so I didn't make a fuss.

Mushroom head- This hairstyle may look cute on others (like the girl above) but definitely not on my round face :(

When I reached secondary school, my mum still insisted I kept that mushroom head cos it's easy to maintain. She always took me to a neighbourhood hair salon and the same auntie would cut my hair according to my mum's wishes - mushroom head! However, who would wish to look so tu and old-fashioned in secondary school! Therefore, I always stormed off after the haircut and locked myself in my room and cried. So ugly!

When I went to JC, my mum finally stopped becoming my hair consultant and so till now, I can keep my long hair. However, I'm still afraid of going to hair salon cos once the hairdresser lays her/his scissors on your hair, it's irreversible! You'll have to accept the outcome no matter what. Finding a good hairdresser is so difficult...My hair is long again and I plan to have a new hairstyle..any recommendations? hee....

It's a weird but warm feeling

Yesterday was one of my best friends, Peishan's 21st birthday. She held it at NTU staff bungalow...ha...my first time going there and it was a big place...but a bit hard to find so by the time we reached there, we were all sweaty le..haha

Peishan invited may friends and there were lots of relatives to celebrate with her. When I reached there, there was a surprise for me too..Haha...it's about my other best friend, Sufen! Was happy for her to see her so happy! Keke....

When it came to taking photos, I suddenly had this strange feeling. Me, Sufen and Peishan were supposed to take photos as we were secondary school friends...Time really flies...We were then 13 years old, 3 playful hardworking girls...Now, we were all grown up, with our own lives and ambitions....It's the feelings you get when you look at your past photos....warm but weird....

Hope we can still stay in touch for the future coming years....but know it's gonna get harder once we embark on the adult working life....

Anyway, happy 21st birthday, Peishan!

Wishes

Recently, there is a new show on Channel 8. It's about a magical cup whereby a pretty genie lives in it and the master is able to make 3 wishes. I find the lyrics of the main song very interesting. The song is about humans making wishes. It mentions how humans smiled and have greedy looks when they are able to make a wish. It also says that humans are boring kind cos we are always making the same type of wishes, money, power, fame etc. "Is there anything else that is more valuable?" one of the lyrics said.

It's true that when people are given 3 wishes, the wishes they make are definitely revolving around the same thing. Humans are greedy and my tuitee said that if she was given a wish, she would wish for more wishes..haha...

Wishing is a good thing as it gives people hope. We wish through all means, through blowing candles on our birthday cakes, through throwing a coin into the wishing fountain, through writing cards and hanging them on the wishing tree....

However, wishes do not come so easily. They may come with a price...If you wish for something, and you have to give something back, would you risk it and make the wish?

I wish, I wish....................

I scream for ice cream!

Haha...i think i've been eating ice cream quite a few times recently...know it's fattening but it's so tempting to have a tasty cooling treat right? keke.... eating ice cream always makes people happy and that's why my dream part time job is to sell ice cream! Yeah, cos i think it's a happy job as people who come to buy ice cream are happy customers..and the way kids smile when you pass them their cones will definitely cheer me up! I can even eat free ice cream...haha

2 interesting facts about ice cream are that vanilla is still the most popular ice cream flavour by far, despite the creation of many new flavours over the years. Also, it takes an average of 50 licks to polish off a single-scoop ice cream cone...mmm...true??

Here's an ice cream cone test! Do it for fun ya :)

How do you like to eat ice cream cones?
  1. Bite
  2. Nibble
  3. Lick
  4. From the bottom of cone to the top

(Scroll down for results)

.

.

.

.

.

Bite: You are always willful and most of the time you are a stubborn person. However, you love to work with others and are quite honest, which makes you good to get along with as a friend or lover.

Nibble: You're very careful and circumspect in all matters but you won't face any problems until they actually happen. Also you're a kind and sensitive person.

Lick: You're a socialite. You go out to a party frequently and hang around with lots of people. You're very enthusiastic, ambitious and love challenges.

From the bottom of cone to the top: You're an unpredictable and strict person. You enter competitions just to taste the sweetness of victory, and love to do lots of travel.

Happy Mid Autumn Festival

Zhong Qiu Jie has come again but this year this festival is given a very misty look due to the haze..The haze is so terrible, really scary to see the sky so blur blur.....

This year, I got a very festive mood cos I went Chinese Garden on thursday after school. Went there with OP and that was the first time he stepped into Chinese Garden...haha.... The lanterns and the Chinese music really added to the mid autumn atmosphere...This year's theme is 7 wonders and they were pretty as usual...took a lot of photos with OP's camera...We also had free lanterns and after a hard time trying to light up our candles, we were like little kids, happily strolling down while carrying the lanterns..keke

Today we went Chinatown to celebrate again..haha...There were also pretty decorations..However, as the sky was dark, the photos taken using my hanphone didn't turn out well...keke... to end the "celebration", we went for a delifrance ice cream which we thought was a weird combination. It was yam, vanilla and strawberry ice cream topped with m&ms and dried mangoes...super sweet..mmm....not very nice..haha

Wish all of u had an enjoyable mid autumn festival!! :)

She's so brave!

While I was doing my work in front of TV, there was a rerun of the program "Say I do", a show where the two hosts will help the boyfriend to propose to his girlfriend. However, this episode is very special because it's the girl who is proposing to her boyfriend!!

She wanted to propose in a grand manner so she opted to propose to her boyfriend in front of many people in a shopping center. She even knelt and asked "Will you marry me?" and of course, her boyfriend agreed...

I find her super courageous, to propose to her boyfriend is so "un-traditional". I always think that proposing is a guy's job, to make him think of proposing idea and to make his future wife feel happy and blessed...think many of you will agree with me right? Haha...

Applause for the girl! But I dun think i will be so brave as her..haha

Busy Friday and Saturday

I had a very busy Friday and Saturday... Early on Friday morning, Rhys, Bel and I went to attend the Mindef seminar...But I dun think i was interested in the talk cos I fell asleep when the speaker was talking! But I can't help it...keke :P After the talk, we rushed back to school to prepare our semi-final case competition...The case was so much tougher than the quarter finals one and the worst part is we had to come up with financial recommendations! We are all marketing students and we thought die liao... :( We prepared in school till 8pm and no one had a good sleep cos we each went home to prepare our slides till wee morning...

Early next morning, went to school early, wearing formal wear and a nervous (and sleepy) mind. The judges said we presented well but the content was weak, especially the financial part. Haiz, knew that this would be the outcome. So you can guess that we didn't make it to the finals...But anyway, we did stay back (except ningjia) to see the finals...The finalists were good! One group of Year 1 students even came in second...wow.... impressed!

We three taking photos before the finals started.
My hair was so messy! haha

Me and Bel

Rhys and Me!

Gained a lot of experience and knew that we were really weak in numbers..haha..but we had great fun working as B4! Case competition finally came to an end but memories will stay long long....hee...now is FYP battle....argh...
