Finishing the race...

Today is the Marathon race for OP and I waited anxiously for his call...At about 10.40, he called me and told me he had about 10km left so I headed down to Padang to wait for him at the finishing line.... There was some drizzling and the sky looked gloomy...However, it helped to cool the runners down... (Photos looked a bit unclear due to the dark weather...)

This is the finishing line and the timing for the full Marathon showed 5 hours and 51 minutes. The race had gone on for so long already......

Impossible is Nothing!! Many runners have proven that...I saw some guys limping to the finishing line, some runners who were above 60 years old, some runners using their last bit of energy to dash to the finishing line.....

No sign of OP yet but at the finishing line, I saw some touching scenes.. In this race, I saw love and friendship. Two friends were holding hands and encouraging each other when they ran towards the finishing line. A couple did the same thing too... Also, a guy was carrying his baby in his arms as he steadily approached the finishing line. An Indian man grabbed his son from his wife who was standing in the crowd and raced towards the finishing line...

At 6 hours and 24 minutes, I finally saw OP!!! He looked so tired but he finally made it to the finishing line!!!!

A sweet victory to OP!! He also passed the medal to me after he finished his race...his second medal.....

From my previous post, I mentioned that runners can write down their reasons for running and they can pinned them to the back of their shirt to motivate the runners behind them. I was so touched when he showed me his reason for running....

As the host says, no matter what time you finish the race, you are the champion! OP, you are my champion!!
